FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a structure for use in catalysis and adsorption processes, comprising multilayer coated substrates and channels between adjacent multilayer coated substrates, in which each multilayer coated substrate comprises a substrate having a first and a second side, and a composite material on at least a first side of the substrate, wherein said composite material comprises an active material selected from a catalyst or adsorbent, and having distinctive features on the surface of the composite material, selected from grooves, hills, plateaux, columns, cylinders, hillocks, cones or any combination thereof, created by means of printing, forming, drawing or three-dimensional printing; and wherein the channels are formed by contact of the distinctive features in the coating on the first side of the multilayer structure with the side of the adjacent multilayer structure. Also, the invention relates to a method of making such a structure and to a embodiment thereof.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of structure for use in catalysis and adsorption processes, having higher density of cells and larger volume fraction of active material.
