FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: method to align a metering instrument includes preliminary installation of a metering instrument into a working position, which consists in levelling, preliminary alignment of the instrument in a point fixed on the area, measurement of the metering instrument height, measurement of values, the final installation of the instrument into the working position, defined when levelling is observed, measurement of linear and angular elements of alignment error. After preliminary alignment and levelling of the instrument, its initial position is fixed. Then lifting screws of the metering instrument support or movement of the metering instrument aligner telescope observing line are used to match the vertical axis of the instrument rotation or the observing line of its aligner with a point fixed on the area. The produced position of the metering instrument or its aligner is fixed relative to the original initial position, the linear and angular elements of alignment error are calculated. Corrections are calculated in values measured by the instrument with account of alignment error element values, and the determined values are calculated. The device to align the metering instrument comprises a support with lifting screws, an aligner with a telescope, an electronic system of information registration and processing. The metering instrument is equipped with a sensor of the metering instrument vertical rotation axis deviations from its vertical position. The electronic system of information registration and processing comprises a unit of the metering instrument height input, an analogue unit to calculate linear and angular elements of alignment error, a unit to register a linear element of alignment error, a unit to register an angular element of alignment error, an analogue unit of coordinates calculation, a unit to register measured distances, a unit to register measured horizontal angles, an analogue unit to calculate direction angles, a unit to calculate corrections into measured directions, an analogue unit to calculate determined distances, a unit to calculate determined horizontal angles, a unit to register measured directions, a unit to calculate determined directions, a unit to register determined distances, a unit to register determined horizontal angles, a unit to register determined directions and a memory.

EFFECT: reduction of time for high-quality installation of an instrument into a working position and increased accuracy of measurements.
