FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: electro-optical plumb has an imaging system comprising an electromagnetic signal emitter, a linear and angular centring element sensor and an electronic information recording and processing system. The electro-optical plumb also has three bases - two fixed and one variable. One fixed base is formed by a distance in the object space between radiation sources fixed at the time of measuring. The second fixed base is formed by the distance between the plane of the matrix of radiation detectors and the centre of projections of the imaging system. The variable base is formed by the size of the mage in the plane of the matrix of radiation detectors of the fixed base of the object space. The radiation source and/or sources are movable and adapted to detect displacement of a source or displacement of sources relative each other.

EFFECT: conducting, with high degree of accuracy, the required precision and high-precision geodetic measurements and constructions in confined areas, with short sides of measured angles under compact planning conditions.
