FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: on the 2nd-7th postoperative day, microbial flora is sampled from at least five skin areas of a patient's body, specifically in the zones of a palmar surface, a bend of elbow, a postoperative suture and a therapeutic and/or diagnostic system and life sustenance junction, and also on surfaces of said systems and aids which directly contacts with the patient's body. The samples are analysed for the microbial flora composition, and if observing at least in three samples at least one microorganism of: Pseudomonas spp; Acinetobacter spp; Klebsiella spp; Enterobacter spp; Serratia spp, Citrobacter spp, Escherichia spp and/or microorganisms S. aureus, developing infectious complications within the next 7-14 days are predicted.

EFFECT: use of the declared method allows higher prognostic reliability with respect to developing infectious complications in cardiosurgical patients at a stage preceding said pathology.
