METHOD FOR PREVENTION OF INFECTIOUS COMPLICATIONS OF BACTERIAL NATURE AFTER HEART SURGERY UNDER CONDITIONS OF ARTIFICIAL CIRCULATION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01N33/569

Abstract RU 2638814 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: to prevent infectious complications of a bacterial nature after a heart surgery performed under conditions of artificial circulation starting from the third day after the operation, samples are taken every day for two weeks from the skin in the postoperative suture area, elbow area and area around the intravascular catheter or catheters. In the samples, microbial flora composition is examined. If at least one of the microorganisms belonging to at least one of the following species of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii is detected, daily sanitization of the patient's skin, the room where he/she is located, as well as the medical and diagnostic equipment that is in contact with him/her, with the use of antiseptic agents. An antibiotic or antibiotics to which the detected microorganisms are sensitive is identified and prescribed for the patient in a therapeutic dose.

EFFECT: application of this invention allows to predict the possibility of blood bacteraemia in a timely manner and to select the correct antibiotic therapy by identifying antibiotic sensitivity in each patient individually, which significantly increases the effectiveness of treatment and reduces the drug load on patients.
