FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: reference features of corresponding to defined classes of surface ships are created from images generated based a limited set of real radar images of ships of known classes with conversion thereof into a complex point three-dimensional model, with correction thereof based on photographs or drawings of ships and mathematical modelling, which enables to describe radar images of known classes of ships taking into account parameters of the radar, variations of observation conditions and the effect of rolling and yawing of the ship when moving on the perturbed sea surface.

EFFECT: identification of surface ships on perturbed sea surface, low expenses on creating distinctive features of standard classes of surface ships.
