FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cutting tool is intended for machining valve sleeve and seat and comprises base including lathe chuck and at least one seat for cutting plate that comprises two opposed base surface interjointed by narrow sides. Note here that said base seat has base support surface whereto cutting plates is pressed by its base side when fitted in mounted position. Base support surface is arranged so that cutting plate is located tangentially while is base surface is oriented at cone opening angle of 20°-80° relative to axial direction. Cutting plate base comprises two opposed base surface interjointed by narrow sides formed by two-layer structure enveloping base sides. Note also that cutting edges are formed between narrow sides and any of base sides. In compliance with another version, two-layer structure is applied on base plate base side to produce cutting edge between narrow side and base side. Note that face side of both layers is oriented at rear angle to perpendicular to plate base side while layers on narrow side adjoin uniformly to plate base side.
EFFECT: higher cutting accuracy.
