FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises fitting larger-length inserts without fastening holes in body groove with direction of displacement at acute angle to tool axis. To up the cutting speed, locking is executed by thrust faces made at said body and arranged in the row towards the end face with cutting edges at spacing equal to insert length and with thrusting to the body at insert head and tail parts with contact over the insert entire width. Note here that displacement of inserts over tool axis is effected by butted thrust faces at the body and rear clamps that can be rearranged and displaced to distance equal to insert length. Note here that inserts are sharpened over the insert entire length with identical lengths and cutting edge point by fitting them at sharpening in row into cassettes with common inclination and thrust relative to sharpening tool feed direction and sharpening over cutting edge rear surface.
EFFECT: higher cutting speed.
