FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of high-density powder nitrogen-containing material based on iron. Charge is prepared containing sprayed powder of chromium- and/or molybdenum-containing steel, graphite and iron nitride in amount corresponding to content of 0.6 wt.% of nitrogen. Static cold pressing is performed at pressure providing porosity of 10-12%. Additional compaction is carried out in two stages: at the first stage – heating in ammonia medium to temperature of 590-730 °C and compaction to relative density of 0.95-0.97, at the second stage – high-temperature heating and compaction to relative density of not less than 0.985. After the first stage of additional compaction, annealing is carried out in two stages: at the first stage the workpiece is heated to 900-950 °C for 1-2 hours, and at the second stage the temperature is increased to 1,100-1,200 °C and held for 4-6 hours.
EFFECT: improved quality of interparticle splicing, increased impact viscosity, strength and endurance.
