FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: sensor comprises a unit of impedance, which is directly connected to a tested electrical system via the only connection point. Electric components of the impedance unit are arranged and made so that a high-frequency signal from partial discharges and a low-frequency signal that bears information on the power cycle preferentially pass along the different branches of this unit. Analysis of these separated signals makes it possible to extract information on insulation from them in the electric system exposed to monitoring.
EFFECT: availability of the only connection point, possibility to simultaneously measure signals from partial discharges and a signal that carries information on the power cycle, user-safe operation of the sensor, also due to usage of an optoelectronic circuit to control the impedance unit.
