FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: rubber item reinforced with metal elements is placed into a cryogenic container with liquid nitrogen and is soaked until the item gets brittle. Afterwards the item is exposed to electric high-voltage pulses with an energy gradient from 2 to 15 J/mm. Then the item cooled in liquid nitrogen is moved into a working container filled with gaseous nitrogen and equipped with electrodes. Then electric high-voltage discharges are executed, at the same time the distance between electrodes on the rubber layer surface of the item at least 5.3 times exceeds thickness of the rubber layer of the item.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of liquid nitrogen.
