FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine has combustion chamber and exhaust gas system receiving waste gases 10 and incorporating waste gas recirculation system to send waste gases 10 back into combustion chamber air feed duct. Note here that said recirculation system incorporates heat exchanger 9 to extract thermal power from waste gases. Besides, compressor 7 is arranged to compress air sucked from ambient medium and force compressed air flow via heat exchanger 9 in bypass loop. Invention covers also method of ICE operation.
EFFECT: efficient use of heat, optimum design.
