FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in supercharged internal combustion engines equipped with charge air coolers. Method of engine control consists in that condensate is collected from cooled air directed to engine (10). Condensate is fed into engine (10) through one of the points proceeding from engine operating conditions. Determining required percentage of combustion dilution in engine (10) based on operating conditions. Condensate injection is controlled and exhaust gas recirculation is controlled from engine (10) to form required dilution, partially based on injection point. Versions of the method for controlling an engine are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of failure in ignition of engine and/or instability of combustion in engine.
