FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: discharger comprises two metal electrodes with coaxial holes and a plate arranged between them and made of a hard dielectric, which a hole (a channel) coaxial with holes in electrodes, on an inner wall of which there is a groove. Arrangement of a solid dielectric material between electrodes and selection of geometric shape of electrodes and a dielectric ensure reduced intensity of an electric field near dielectric walls of a discharger channel, its enlargement in the channel centre, deflection of electric charges from discharger channel walls and distribution of discharge along an edge of holes in the cathode and anode.

EFFECT: production of a volume discharge in a discharger, which ensures switching time of 5 ns, reduced inductance and resistance of a discharge, reduced thermal and chemical effect of discharge plasma at structure parts, autonomous removal of ionised gas from an interelectrode gap and reduced dimensions of the discharger.
