SUBSTANCE: method involves receiving a plurality of positron annihilation events detected during a positron emission tomography scan. A plurality of events is reconstructed using a list-based reconstruction technique. The plurality of events is reconstructed using a second reconstruction technique to generate second tomographic data. The second tomographic data is used to determine an error correction. The error correction is applied to the first tomographic data to generate corrected tomographic data. An image indicative of the corrected tomographic data is generated.
EFFECT: high image accuracy.
