FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: focusing system is designed for precision focusing of streams of charged particles (electrons, ions) with high intensity using linearly extended sources. Said task is solved by that, the focusing system has a vacuum chamber, a system of electrical circular loops of permanent magnets and a source of charged particles. The source of charged particles is linear and the system of electrical circular loops or permanent magnets is configured to create a magnetic field of the type: Bz (ρ, 0)=B0p, where α=0.75-0.85; - horizontal position of the linear source; or Bz (ρ, 0)-B0p, where α=0.15-0.25; - vertical position of the linear source.

EFFECT: high-precision focusing of streams of charged particles with high intensity using linearly extended sources.
