SUBSTANCE: wireless communication device is configured to select one of a plurality of random access channels (RACH), each RACH being associated with a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI). A random access preamble is sent for system access over the selected RACH. A random access response is received with power control correction (PC), wherein the random access response is processed with the RNTI associated with the selected RACH. Message transmission power is determined based on PC correction and a message is sent with the determined transmission power.
