FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, specifically to sorbents for decontaminating the ground, soil, sand and other solid granular wastes contaminated with strontium radionuclides. The disclosed colloid-resistant nanosized sorbent is a product of reaction of cations of calcium, barium or mixture thereof, taken in equivalent amount, and sulphate anions in the medium of a stable emulsion of copolymers of acrylic acid with particle size not greater than 500 nm. The novel nano-sorbent is a mobile selective sorbent for strontium radionuclides, capable of penetrating the pore space in soil due to small particle size, thus ensuring efficient extraction of radionuclides.
EFFECT: high degree of decontamination of materials contaminated with strontium radionuclides while cutting on time and labour input in decontamination.
