FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: once admitted to hospital, a patient is examined for blood serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and α2-macroglobulin (MG) to determine a CRP to MG concentration ratio. The CRB/MG ratio exceeding 2 corresponds to acute destructive pancreas inflammation, and the CRB/MG ratio being 2 and lower indicates reduction or absence of inflammatory process in the pancreas.
EFFECT: more instant diagnostics.
