FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of measuring a physical quantity where oscillations are excited in a resonator, the amplitude-frequency curve is determined and the area under the curve is calculated. The method involves exciting oscillations at a fixed frequency and determining the amplitude-frequency curve while varying the initial natural frequency of the resonator within fixed limits. Oscillations can be excited in an electromagnetic resonator and the initial natural frequency of the resonator can be changed by changing its geometric and/or electrophysical parameters.
EFFECT: simple measurement process.
