FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: device for measurement of physical parameters of dielectric sheet material contains a waveguide rectangular resonator implemented as a set of two identical parts split in the cross plane, in a slot between which parallel to it the sheet material, the electromagnetic oscillation generators and the electronic unit connected to this resonator through connecting elements are placed. In a cavity of each part of the resonator where oscillations of the type H_10n, n=1, 2, …, are excited at its short-circuited end face the dielectric insert with the same cross size as that of the resonator, is placed, its longitudinal size is $$d=L/2n\sqrt{\epsilon -1},$$ where L - the resonator length in the longitudinal plane, ε - dielectric permeability of material of each insert. The resonator can be fitted with the evanescent-mode wave guide formed by a set of two mutually parallel and parallel to sheet material of metal strips, each of which is joined to free edge of the respective half of the split cavity.

EFFECT: higher measurement accuracy.
