SUBSTANCE: device has a collection of conversion elements arranged in form of a one-dimensional or two-dimensional matrix on a substrate which convert incident light into an electrical signal, a light source for illuminating conversion elements for calibrating the conversion elements and a comparator unit for comparing the output signal of a conversion element with a predetermined initial output signal in order to regulate the level of excitation of the light source when regulating output light.
EFFECT: preventing worsening of characteristics due to the drop in optical calibration effect caused by deterioration of the light source as a result of prolonged use and a drop in the signal-to-noise ratio arising from the increase in dark current.
