FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary preparation of a surface, application of a coating and further machining. Preliminary preparation of the surface is performed using 38A-5 grade zirconia alumina with grain size of 60…80 mcm at compressed air pressure of 0.60…0.65 MPa and machining distance of 100…110 mm to surface roughness Rz=80…100 mcm. Application of the coating is performed using supersonic electric-arc sputtering at velocity of air escape from spraying head of metal spray gun, which is equal to 500…520 m/s, at compressed air pressure of 0.75…0.80 MPa, the arc operating current equal to 310 A, the arc operating voltage equal to 28…30 V and sputtered wire 50X"Ф"A supply speed of 9…10 m/min.
EFFECT: improving adhesion strength of the applied coating to a substrate, reducing its porosity, increasing the efficiency of the sputtered material, wear resistance and productivity.
