FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: flowmetre has a cylindrical housing built into a transportation channel with two receiving-emitting elements mounted on the wall of the said housing. The housing of the flowmetre is fitted with at least one additional reflector. The reflector is located on at least one break-off point of an ultrasonic pulse in form of a spatial broken line. The spatial broken line consists of n sections (n=2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9), such that each section lies in the measuring plane at a distance ξj (j=1, 2,…, n) from the axis of the flowmeter with radius R, where the length of the j-th section is equal to , where α is the angle between each section of the path and the axis of the flowmetre.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining flow rate of gases or liquids pumped through a pipe with a round cross section.
