FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: patients suffering multiple sclerosis are examined for glucose-6-phosphatedehydrogenase activity in peripheral blood erythrocytes. If observing glucose-6-phosphatedehydrogenase activity excess in peripheral blood erythrocytes by 80% and more as compared with the values in healthy persons, remittent multiple sclerosis is diagnosed. Glucose-6-phosphatedehydrogenase activity decrease in peripheral blood erythrocytes in patients with multiple sclerosis by 25% and more as compared with the values in healthy persons enables to diagnose secondary-progressive multiple sclerosis.
EFFECT: use of the declared method allows more precise differential diagnostics of remittent and secondary-progressive multiple sclerosis.
