FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: blood serum is analysed for a creatinine level, glomerular filtration rate is evaluated by MDRD formula, relative urine density is determined, then a maximum thickness of renal parenchyma, systolic and diastolic blood pressure are measured. Further, the presence of sclerosis is calculated by formula:
 , where S is an index of renal glomerule sclerosis, K is glomerular filtration rate calculated by MDRD method (ml/min/1.73 m2), O is a relative morning urine density, T is the greatest thickness of renal parenchyma determined by ultrasound data (mm), C is systolic blood pressure (mm Hg), D is diastolic blood pressure (mm Hg). If S <10, the absence of glomerule sclerosis is diagnosed, and if the values S≥10.1 shows the presence of nephritic tissue sclerosis. The method can be used in initial diagnosing of glomerulosclerosis in the patients with diffuse renal diseases.
