SUBSTANCE: method of determining fractional parameters of the parent rock and hydrocarbon formations surrounding an earth borehole, comprising steps on which: lowering a logging device suspended on an armoured cable into the borehole drilled in an underground formation, wherein said logging device includes an elongated cylindrical probe, the inner part of which has a housing which accommodates the downhole electronic system, and having a shoe mounted on one side of the probe, having an antenna array, as well as having a supporting arm mounted the side of the probe opposite the shoe, which is adapted for hydraulic control in order to hold the shoe in contact with the wall of the borehole, electromagnetic energy is generated while controlling the direction of the magnetic torque from the antenna array, electromagnetic energy is transmitted to the formation, energy which has passed through the formation is received on receiving antennae, multiple complex permeability values are obtained from electromagnetic energy measurements at multiple frequencies; and the sum of fractional parameters of the parent rock and hydrocarbons of the said formation is obtained as a function of the said multiple complex permeability values.
EFFECT: minimisation or elimination of external effects which might cause errors.
