FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for protection of structure parts of steel or titanium from melt of chemically active metal consists in positioning source part in pressure tight reservoir, in sealed reservoir vacuumising, in heating part at rate of 100°C each 10 minutes to 400°C, in introduction of carbon dioxide into sealed reservoir at amount of 0.5 g/mol per each 1 cm2 of surface of part and in production of oxy-carbide layer of thickness as high, as 0.05 mm on surface of chemically active metal.
EFFECT: raised chemical resistance of structure metals to melt of chemically active metal at high temperature during period of contact of structure metal or its alloy with melt of chemically active metal for over 1 hour.
