FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: device for selective blocking of well shaft includes mandrel, sealing element installed on the above mandrel and having rigidity varying in response to stimulating effect, at least one auxiliary for selective movement leading to compression of sealing element as or after decrease of its rigidity by means of the above effect. During implementation of the method for well shaft sealing there used is sealing element arranged on mandrel and having rigidity varying in response to stimulating effect; mandrel is lowered inside well shaft and compression of sealing element is performed, thus providing increase in its diameter for contact with well shaft, as or after the above effect is applied.
EFFECT: high coefficient of expansion with the use of the polymer having shape memory effect; effective sealing.
