FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: intraocular lens contains a reciprocating optical part and support elements in the form of three sections. Each of the sections represents a curvilinear quadrilateral petal each of which is symmetric to a longitudinal symmetry axis which is passing through the centre of the optical part. Two lateral surfaces of each of the petals are converging generating Riemann surfaces with their concavities facing the symmetry axis of the petal and having an opposite sense of curvature. The third side of the petal opposite to the optical part represents a portion of a convex elliptic segment with its convexity facing a side opposite to the optical part. The fourth side of each petal is concave to the centre of the optical part and attached thereto. The petal itself consists of at least of three coupled, mutually concentric segments repositionable with respect two the other segments of the petal and a principal plane of the optical part. The flexible curvilinear petals are of the same area and angularly equidistanced from each other. Frontal parts of each curvilinear petal represents a segment of a torous surface, the areas and the thickness of three segments are different.
EFFECT: expanded lens accommodation, better elasticity, decreased local and surrounding eye deformations.
