ARTIFICIAL EYE LENS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61F2/14

Abstract RU 2360647 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns ophthalmology. The artificial eye lens (AEL) contains an optical part in the form of a negative lens and basic elements. The AEL has three basic elements, located radially and executed as a unit with an optical part and unbent to its back surface. Two basic elements are identical under the form and the size and their longitudinal axes are on distance of 70-75 angle degrees from each other, and the third, larger on the size than the first and the second, are on identical distance from them and is symmetric concerning the central axis of the lens. The back surface of an optical part and basic elements is executed with the variable radius of curvature enlarged from the centre to periphery, and the periphery of each basic element comes to an end with the prominence lying in a plane, a parallel main plane of a lens. Basic elements are executed in the form of the curvilinear figures which end face is executed on a circle arch, a concentric optical part. The lateral sides of the first and second element turned to each other, are executed direct or slightly bent, opposite lateral faces are executed bent; both lateral faces of the third element are executed by the bent. Thus all three basic elements are smoothly bridged among themselves by arched sites at periphery of an optical part and concentric to it. In the centre of an optical part the aperture in diametre from 0.2 to 0.6 mm is executed.

EFFECT: application of the given AEL allows reducing risk of development of complications of the postoperative period, such as development of a cataract and a pigmental glaucoma, and also dilates AEL arsenal.
