ACCOMMODATING ARTIFICIAL EYE LENS AND METHOD OF ITS IMPLANTATION Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61F2/16 A61F9/07

Abstract RU 2508076 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to ophthalmology. Artificial eye lens (AEL) contains optic and haptic parts with possibility of their bending, haptic part is made in form of two flat curvilinear diametrically placed haptic elements, which lie in main plane of optic part; two diametrically located similar through slots, each of which consists of straight sections, connected with curvilinear section, are made in haptic part, straight sections are inclined towards lateral surface of haptic part, and curvilinear section is made wavelike from three convex and two concave sections, starting with convex one, with apex of convex section lying on longitudinal AEL axis, and each straight groove being located along longitudinal AEL axis between AEL butt end surface and wavelike section of through slot. Method of AEL implantation is realised in the following way. One of haptic elements is brought into lower formix of capsule sac, after which forceps is released, and at the moment of AEL unfolding in capsule sac they are used to move apart wavelike section of slot by pressing with spatula and to bring the edge of anterior capsule into slot of said haptic element, with internal part of haptic element, bounded with slot being left on anterior capsule, thus fixing said haptic element; after that, diametrically opposite haptic element is moved towards eye centre and submerged into upper formix of capsule sac, for which purpose peripheral part of haptic element is pressed on with another spatula, also used to move apart wavelike section of slot, the edge of anterior capsule is brought into slot of said haptic element, with internal part of haptic element, bounded with slot, being left on anterior capsule, thus fixing said haptic element.

EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase stability of AEL position.
