FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: area of an ultrasonic cross section of an anterior eye segment is examined. A relation of the area of the cross section of the anterior eye segment up to an anterior hyaloid to an area of an ultrasonic cross section of a crystalline lens is calculated. An average variation K in a relevant decade is subtracted. If the result is 1.68 and less, a high risk of development of an acute attack of phakomorphous glaucoma for the following 10 years is predicted, and correction of hyperopic refraction by removal of a crystalline lens followed by IOL implantation is proposed. If observing no high risk of the attack of phakomorphous glaucoma shown by the K value exceeding 1.68, LASIC is performed.
EFFECT: enabled differential choice of a surgical intervention.
