FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: cross section area of a crystalline lens and position of a ciliary body are measured to derive a factor K by relating the cross section area of the crystalline lens in phakomorphous glaucoma to the cross section area of the crystalline lens in hypermetropia. If K is less than 1.1, a condition of acute exacerbation of secondary phakomorphous closed-angle glaucoma is stated, and if K is 1.1 to 1.15, potential development of acute exacerbation of secondary phakomorphous closed-angle glaucoma is predicted. If K exceeds 1.15, no risk of acute exacerbation of secondary phakomorphous closed-angle glaucoma is predicted.
EFFECT: method improves prediction accuracy of development of acute exacerbation of secondary phakomorphous closed-angle glaucoma in hypermetropes.
