FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for applying composite galvanic coatings onto helical surfaces via electrolytic polishing has an anode head with a swab, a cathode, tanks for supplying and collecting electrolyte, filling and draining pipes, as well as an additional stop nut having upper and lower halves attached to both halves of the anode head. The anode head is made from fluoroplastic and consists of two semi-ring shaped halves which are hinged to each other and fastened by a locking device, where the upper half of the head, which has a filling pipe, is hollow and serves as an electrolyte reservoir, the bottom of which is an anode made from the coating material in form of a screw thread into one step similar to the screw thread of the processed screw on which the swab is attached, which is moistened by the electrolyte through holes on the entire length of the thread on the anode itself. The processed screw is mounted in the lower part of the anode head, with the said screw serving as the cathode. The apparatus also has a draining pipe for outlet of spent electrolyte.

EFFECT: obtaining wear-resistant and uniform coating on helical surfaces.
