SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method for making absorbent products and an absorbent product having an absorbent core enclosed between coating sheets, and flexible elements provided in a front portion and/or a back portion of the product. The method involves procedures of laying a line of absorbent cores on a first cloth of a coating material movable along the machine direction, laying a second canvas of the coating material on the canvas containing a line of the absorbent cores, laying the flexible elements on one of said canvases until it contacts with said line of the absorbent cores forming thereby a line of the coupled half-finished absorbent products, and cutting separate absorbent products of the line of the half-finished products. According to the invention, the appropriate flexible elements are laid on one of said canvases so that the flexible elements having a longitudinal length corresponding to a double length of the appropriate flexible element in the front and/or back portion of the product and to a distance of the separate adjacent absorbent products which are cut out of the line of the half-finished products.

EFFECT: invention allows simplifying a laying procedure of the flexible elements of the absorbent products.
