FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: proposed object cooling method to low temperatures consists in arrangement of heat flow from object to working medium; intermetallic compounds on the basis of rare earth elements with non-stable valence, the temperature of which is decreased by external action, are used as working medium: either with imposition of magnetic field or with pressure variation. As rare earth element there used is cerium or ytterbium, and their compounds with nickel, or copper, or silver, or gold.

EFFECT: increasing object cooling efficiency owing to improving cooling efficiency and enlarging the range of start-up temperatures.
