FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: two lipid monolayers are fed into holes in a partition which separates two half-cells filled with aqueous electrolyte solution, on the surface of which there is a lipid layer in an organic solvent. The partition used is coating glass with an amorphous surface obtained by treating glass with 3,3,3-trifluoropropyltrimethoxy silane.
EFFECT: use of the method enables to obtain BLM with high controlled tension, high capacitance and stability, which is a result of the absence of solvent microlenses in the membrane and absence of a meniscus around the membrane with excess lipid in the solvent.
