FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to novel antifungal agents based on liposomes. Disclosed are single-layer liposomes containing micafungin. Additionally, liposomes can contain phloretin in equimolar ratio with lipid. Antifungal activity of the liposomes of the present invention is considerably higher than the activity of amphotericin B known from the prior art, which is confirmed by their significantly lower minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) compared to amphotericin B. Thus, MIC of single-layer liposomes with micafungin with respect to fluconazole-resistant clinical isolates of Candida species is 8-60 times lower than MIC of amphotericin B.
EFFECT: adding phloretin to liposomes with micafungin reduces MIC by 14 times.
