FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for production of a moist snuff non-tobacco composition for peroral usage includes the following stages: production of one or more plant fibres in the form of fine powder, processing of the plant fibre(s), possibly - packing either in pouches or in tins. At the stage of processing one adds water, one or more water-holding substances and NaCl to the plant fibres in the process of stirring till a mixture is produced. The mixture is heated and maintained in a heated condition which ensures the mixture pasteurisation or fermentation. The moist snuff mixture is cooled and other ingredients are optionally added; these ingredients may be represented by one or more other salts, water-holding substances, colouring, aromatising agents and flavouring additives. The invention additionally refers to the composition produced by the said method.
EFFECT: invention ensures production of a moist non-tobacco product having a taste and characteristics similar to those of moist tobacco products such as a snus with low bacteria content and without addictive nicotine content.
