FIELD: smoking articles.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a packaging material for use in a pouched nicotine oral product and a pouched nicotine oral product. The packaging material filler comprises a particulate non-tobacco material and a source of nicotine, wherein the packaging material is a saliva-permeable non-woven material containing carded fibres. 50% - 100% of carded fibres are cellulose based staple fibres and 0% - 50% of carded fibres are thermoplastic fibres, with % values defined as % of the total weight of carded fibres, at 21°C and relative humidity 50%. The packaging material additionally contains a binder, while the binder makes up 20% - 60% of the total mass of the packaging material, while cellulose-based staple fibres have a linear density of less than 1.7 decitex. The packaging material has a surface density greater than 30 g/m2.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to prevent the risk of leakage of the filler from the sachets.
