METHOD FOR EVALUATING SEVERITY OF HEAT INJURY Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B10/00

Abstract RU 2431446 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to diagnostic technique, and can be used in combustiology for evaluation of severity of a heat injury and choice of a therapeutic approach on the first pos-injury days. There are evaluated a burn area, and also a burn depth by microcirculation values by means of laser Doppler sonography. There is observed changes in microcirculation values before and after a functional test with ozonised physiologic saline with the ozone contents 300 mcg used for carrying out the functional test and introduced in a stream intravenously in amount 20 ml. The absence of changes or decreased microcirculation values by 5-10 % as compared with the reference, a full-thickness burn is diagnosed, a surface burn is diagnosed with observing the increased microcirculation values by 15-20 %, the degree "ША" burns are diagnosed if the microcirculation values increased by 5-10 % as compared with the reference. A severe heat injury is stated by an area of the surface burn not less than 20 % and/or an area of the full-thickness burn not less than 5 %.

EFFECT: method provides exact early estimation of injury severity, enables consistency estimation of blood supply and microcirculation of the affected regions and evaluation of condition in dynamics.
