FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to - physiotherapy. An apparatus comprises a power supply and a main component. The main component incorporates a body, a front cover, a back cover and a light source unit. And the light source unit accommodates at least one light-emitting diode. The front cover contains a polariser of polarisation efficiency more than 60 % for emission in a range 700 to 1000 nm. The light source unit is movable close and away from the front cover for power output adjustment of polarised emission directed on a patient's body. The method of application of the apparatus is characterised by the fact the human body area is exposed to polarised light generated by said apparatus. Exposure time is 10 to 15 minutes every day or every second day. 20 procedures are carried out.

EFFECT: apparatus and method allow varying circulating blood volume.
