FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: inventions refer to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be applied in surgical management of old ankle dislocation fractures. Elimination of an old ankle dislocation and reduction of a distal tibiofibular syndesmosis in the patients suffering a subcapital malhealing or malunion of a fibular bone are multi-staged; the procedure starts with an inspection of a medial joint space of an injured ankle joint that is followed by an oblique fibular osteotomy in a distal direction from the subcapital malhealing or malunion of the fibular bone; a region of a tibiofibular incisure is inspected; all types of the fibular dislocation are eliminated, and an osteosynthesis in a correct position is carried out; then injured osteoligamentous structures of an internal ankle joint are repaired; inserted wires are removed temporarily; the procedure is finished by rupture repair of an anterior portion of the syndesmosis by one of the known methods.
EFFECT: method allows more efficient surgical management and reduced length of temporary disability.
