FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repair of ships and may be used in reconstruction, repair and modification. Proposed method consists in that ship hull is divided into two parts to be moved apart for extra block to be fitted there between that maintains deck level and central section width. Then said bock is jointed to hull. Thereafter, coordinates of centroids of separated and moved apart initial ship are determined. After all parts are jointed together, displacement and coordinates of reconstructed ship center of gravity are determined for empty and loaded ship to calculate draft and stability and correct them by arranging extra ballast. Optimum length of said extra block is selected with due allowance for possibility of providing for total ship durability for preset operating life. Ship total strength is increased by reinforcing top design deck and sheer strakes of extra block and central section by overlay strips.
EFFECT: increased ship load capacity, higher efficiency.
