FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing biaryls from aryl bromides and aryl boric acid at room temperature in the presence of a catalyst system obtained by reacting a base in a solvent with a palladium-containing compound, characterised by that the palladium-containing compound used is palladium chloride, the base is sodium hydroxide, and the solvent used is ethanol or mixture thereof with water in volume ratio 1:4 respectively, the process being carried out in molar ratio aryl boric acid: aryl bromide: base: palladium chloride equal to 1:1:1.3:0.016.
EFFECT: use of present method enables synthesis of biaryls from readily available but not very reactive aryl bromides at room temperature using ligand-free catalyst systems in air in a medium containing water-ethanol.
