SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 1-alkyl-2-alkyl(cycloalkenyl, benzyl)cyclopropanols of general formula (I):

which can be used in fine organic synthesis, particularly synthesis of biologically active compounds, having pyrethroid, acaricide, pesticide, growth-regulating, fungicide and anti-bacterial activity. The method involves catalytic reaction of olefin with an organometallic compound and an ester. The organometallic compound used is ethylaluminium dichloride (EtAlCl2). Reaction of α-olefin of general formula R-CH=CH2, where R=C6H13, ,
with an ester of formula R'CO2R", where R'=CH3, C2H5, C4H9; R"=Me, Et and EtAlCl2 is carried out in the presence of Mg (powder) and a Cp2ZrCl2 catalyst in molar ratio R-CH=CH2: R'CO2R":EtAlCl2:Mg:Cp2ZrCl2=10:10:(20-30):(10-14):(0.8-1.2) in an argon atmosphere at temperature 20-22°C and atmospheric pressure for 8-12 hours.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain desired products with high regioselectivity.
