FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine 1 includes converging, diverging and branch sections 32, 33 and 21. Branch section 21 branches off compression shock 35 spreading in the flow direction at higher velocity than exit gas 36 supplied to outlet channel 16 from combustion chamber 10 when bleed valve 9 is open, from part of outlet channel 16, which is the closest in the flow direction relative to divergent section 33, and provides the propagation of compression shock 35 backwards to outlet channel 16. Exit gas 36 shall pass through convergent section 32 and bump against compression shock 35 between branch section 21 and divergent section 33 so that exit gas 36 pressure can be increased in convergent section 32. Exit gas 36 shall pass through divergent section 33 so that new compression shock can be generated and thus exit gas temperature can be decreased. Catalyst element of exit gas cleaning device is located in the part of outlet channel 16, which is located farther in the direction of the flow relative to convergent section 33.
EFFECT: increasing cleaning efficiency by preventing exit gas temperature rise so that deterioration of catalyst element condition can be reduced.
