FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine with spark ignition includes compression ratio control mechanism that changes the mechanical compression degree and valve actuation time control mechanism that controls the time at which the inlet valve is closed. The amount of intake air supplied to combustion chamber is controlled with the change of time of inlet valve closing. When the index of air-to-fuel ratio in fuel mixture increases from the first specified index of air/fuel ratio to the second specified index of air/fuel ratio, closing time of the inlet valve is adapted to the time when the piston passes the lower dead-point until the index of air/fuel ratio is equal to the second specified index of air/fuel ratio; at that, the amount of sprayed fuel is not changed. Versions of internal combustion engine design and versions of control method of internal combustion engine are described.
EFFECT: preventing the changes in torque moment value by changing the compression degree and ratio of fuel mixture components.
