METHOD OF WASHING OF EXTERNAL SURFACES OF RAILROAD TANK CARS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B60S3/04 B08B3/04 

FIELD: process technologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to maintenance service of railway vehicles, particularly, to preparation of railroad tank cars for repair and loading. A method of washing of external surfaces of railroad tank cars involves heating of the external surface of the tank cars to preset temperature and processing of the surface the tank cars with a washing solution. Temperature of the external surface of the tank cars are reduced to 20-40°C by water irrigations. The external surfaces of railroad tank cars are processed with using the washing foam generated in the centrifugal force field and applied on the processed surface with density 10-20 l/m and kept for 20-30 minutes. Hot water irrigations are used to remove the rest of foam. Dirty spots are removed from the external surface of the tank cars by means of hot waters jets under pressure 2.0-2.5 MPa. The surfaces of the tank cars are dried by hot air streams.

EFFECT: provided higher effectiveness and quality of the washing process of the railroad tank cars from various dirty spots, particularly from oil, simplified washing process, and reduced labour and power expenses by implementing it.
